Bad news for Paris Saint-Germain. Gianluigi Donnarumma did not travel to Spain with the rest of the team due to muscular fatigue and, therefore, will miss the match against Girona this Saturday at 9:00 p.m. at the Estadi Montilivi. The Italian goalkeeper stayed in Paris to continue with his recovery and is expected to be back for the next Ligue 1 match. This is confirmed by the official statement published on the club's website.
Keylor Navas will start in goal
In the absence of Donnarumma, Keylor Navas will start in goal against Girona. The Costa Rican goalkeeper has not played a single minute so far this season and this will be his opportunity to show that he is still valid for the team. Navas has a contract with PSG until 2024, but his future is up in the air. The goalkeeper wants to play more minutes and if he does not achieve it in Paris, he will have to look for a new destination.
PSG will face Girona this Saturday at 9:00 p.m. at the Estadi Montilivi in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey. The second leg will be played on January 25 at the Parc des Princes.
